Published torque values for Nitronic 60 Fasteners

Posted by Jeff Kirchner on May 20, 2016 3:32:00 AM

NITRONIC 60 is a natural stainless material for fastening systems. With an elevated yield strength (almost twice that of 304 and 316) in the annealed condition, it will take higher forces than popular stainless steels. This strengthening is primarily through the addition of Nitrogen to the composition. With the additions of Silicon and Manganese the material resists galling much better than these grades as well. These additions in essence help the inherent lubricity of the alloy and when coupled with the higher strength means that it will take higher stress before stretching or galling and tearing the thread.

Research and Development Facility Expanding Production

We are expanding to handle greater production requirements, because we do not want to turn away any potential clients. Although we may be busier than ever, and running extra shifts - we plan to still offer the quick lead times and short production runs that have made us one of the best kept secrets in the business. Word of mouth advertising with engineers has helped us through the years. We'd like your help in keeping the engineers informed of the possibilities we can offer.

Increasing our work force to include 2-3 shifts for the GFM’s and centerless grinding

Posted by Jeff Kirchner on Mar 23, 2016 10:11:00 AM

Increased demand and new customers have prompted a change in our schedules

Historically we have been running one shift a day, occasionally some overtime, and every now and then weekends. As a small family company we try to accommodate the needs of our employees and their families, so we rarely work Sundays. It is a good problem to have right now, as the rest of the country seems to be shedding jobs with the uncertain economy of commodity pricing related to mining and oil.

Heraclitus — 'The Only Thing That Is Constant Is Change'

Cindy Miller is retiring end of this month (March 2016) after several years with us. It's a planned retirement. We knew we would only have her time and talent for awhile, as she had already retired from Haynes a few years ago. I'm sure she will enjoy her new found free time playing golf and catching up with friends and family. If you get a chance, please drop her a line and say farewell.

We have added a couple sales assistants to sales team, Tracy Cockrum and Grant Kirchner. A few of you might recognize the names. Tracy is making a move from accounting. She has a background in Marketing and seems to enjoy helping the customer find material solutions. Grant has been involved in sales before, as well as operating equipment through different parts of the plant. He has some good knowledge of the waterjet cutting we perform as well.
