What We Saw This March at NACE in Salt Lake

NACE could best be called, “The Mother of All Corrosion Conferences.” The conference and expo was held from March 11 – 15 in Salt Lake City this year, and featured a sum total of 350+ exhibitors and 5,000 leading industry experts from around the world. While we certainly looked forward to meeting new contacts and making new friends, we had other, longer-term reasons for attending beyond the requisite wining and dining (yes, as it turns out, you actually can order a beer on any given Sunday in SLC).

We were interested in many of the conference’s presentations, a fair number of which are applicable to our company’s business goals both future and present. Many of the metals and alloys we supply at HPA have excellent corrosion-resistant properties (Nitronic and Hastelloy to name just two). We anticipated that a great deal of business could be generated at the conference in several key markets we’ve entered, including the oil and gas industries.

We certainly enjoyed meeting a sea of new faces, and digesting a wealth of new technical information.
